Anything for a free meal!

The other day I received an email from Chick-fil-a reminding me of "Cow Appreciation Day." If you dress up like a cow, you get free food! So of course I jumped at the chance to get myself some free chicken! The kids had been counting the days until we could go, they were so excited. We had a blast getting the costumes ready and making the signs too! It was a really fun and free way to spend the afternoon! The management took pictures of the kids to display at the Lewisville location!

Here we are dressed up as, our rendition of, cows!!

These are the signs I made to wear around our necks!

Let Freedom Ring

Over the 4th of July weekend we had so much fun!! We were invited to a friend's lake house and let's just say...it was the bomb! It was absolutely beautiful. It was right on the water and the weather was just perfect for boating, tubing, jet-skiing, swimming, bar-b-que-ing, and hanging out! We ate a ton and the kids had a blast! Thanks so much Kathy and John!!

The 100 club

So things have been a little busy around here and I haven't had a chance to update my blog. I appologize to all those who check me out everyday (k that was totally a joke!) Anyway, we have been having so much fun doing a lot of family things. Before I tell ya'll about that, I need to give props to my little guy Ethan. I guess he's officially ready for Kindergarten because not only can the kid tie his shoes and make his own bed, but he is now counting to 100 without any help! I'm so proud of him! He is going to do so well in K!! In celebration we are going to Chuckee (unsanitary) Cheese for pizza and, you guessed it, 100 tokens!!

OH BABY!

Today was a really good day! I got some really great news to share...the Boyd's are adding a new addition to our family. Actually two! I got two seperate phone calls from my sister in laws on Wally's side of the family and they both are expecting!! Their due dates are only about a week apart. It is soo exciting because, for once, I'm not the one who is breaking the good news! I just get to reap the rewards in an auntie sort of way! Tricked ya didn't I? Congratulations Lisa and Amanda! We couldn't be more thrilled!

A message from Ethan!

So my sweet husband has returned from is LONG trip with the Boy Scouts, and all ready has left me to fend for myself. He is on a business trip to San Antonio, so it's just me and the kiddos once again. However, it really hasn't been too bad! Yes, these words are coming out of my mouth! I decided to forget about housework, and spend some quality time with my kids! This is uncharacteristic of me because Daddy is the one who always plays while I get 'er done! It will be very short lived because Wally returns Thursday night, but I'm ridin it while I can. Well, I have found that by simply leaving the dishes in the sink and coloring in new $1 coloring books, we have had so much fun! My kids were calm and really well behaved! We read stories and played hide and seek. Simple things, but they have made a huge difference for me. As always, I am so happy when Daddy comes home, but this time, I've actually enjoyed myself!

I've been waiting 8 years for this!

When I got married, 8 years ago,(next month)we had no money, no furniture, but a whole lot of love. As the years have passed, we've graduated from college, gained steady employment, and have aquired furiture along the way. However, we have NEVER goten a new bed. When I was in college, I had a full size mattress, and that is what we've been sleeping on, always squished...(it's a mystery why we have 3 kids!)and a broken box-spring! Since Wally has been on the High Adventure for a week, sleeping in a tent, on the ground of the Colorado Rockies, I took it upon myself to upgrade our sleeping arrangements! So today, my stinkin awesome bro-in-law picked up and delivered my brand spankin new mattress. With new bedding and sheets, it is ready for my sweet husband to come home to! The best part is that he has no idea!! I'm so excited!

Piggies, pirates & ponies

I just love having my 2 darling girls! Yes, Ethan is my complete buddy, but I just can't seem to justify putting pink sparkle toe nail polish on my 5 1/2 year old son!
We have been doing tons of crafts and playing with toys since daddy has been gone and we've been having so much fun. My sister bought the kids these cups that they can color the inside and design themself. The only thing about these cups is that they are stinking huge! Lo was working on coloring the interior portion of her cup, and Meeza wanted the other portion of the cup, not to color, but to play pirates with! She was so cute with this on her leg! She kept saying "arrrg!" and after several attempts, learned how to walk with her pirate peg leg! Adorable!
Ethan is just cute in this picture! He has had that pony since we moved here to TX. He sleeps with it every night in his "cowboy" room.
